Mrs. J. Ramírez is currently in the elementary school department teaching 5th grade ELAR. It is a great pleasure to say that she has been part of this wonderful family for about 17 years where for 16 years, she taught 6th and 7th grade ELAR too. Previous to that, she worked a year with the SAISD as an ESL teacher and another year at St. John Berchmans’ Catholic School as a first grade teacher.
She was born and raised in New York City until the age of 12 moving then to Puerto Rico which is what she considers her first home, Texas being her second. She graduated from the Inter American University of San Germán, Puerto Rico with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She specialized in English from elementary level to high school and obtained a minor in ESL as well.
She moved back to the U.S.A with 17 years of experience as an ESL teacher. She now has been teaching for 34 years and is still very passionate about her job. For Mrs. Ramírez, it is a great honor and privilege to be able to impact the academic lives of her students who are our future leaders, and she hopes to be able to still do so for a few more years.
